CARPE CONFERENCE: CALL FOR PAPERS

The annual CARPE conference will be held in Manchester from the 4th to the 6th November 2013. 

The deadline for papers to be submitted is 17.00 (GMT) 31st May.

Conference themes

During the conference three parallel sessions will be held, organised around the following themes, all of which are core to the work of the Consortium:

•Continuing Professional Development

•Social Innovation 

•Entrepreneurship

•Sustainability

•Applied Arts

•Creative engineering 

•The future of health care

•Quality Assurance in Higher Education

 

Submitting papers

Papers are invited on the conference themes. The conference organisers are particularly interested in papers that also address one or more of the following cross-cutting issue:

•Economic and social challenges facing Europe 

•Transnational collaboration 

•Internationalisation

•Methodological developments

Those invited to present will be given a 20 minute slot. At the end of the conference the organising committee will select outstanding papers for inclusion in a conference publication.

Papers will be accepted from staff of the institutions that are members of the CARPE consortium. 

To apply to present at the conference please send your proposal to carpe@mmu.ac.uk and mark it ‘Conference paper’. Attach a one page Word document that includes the following information:

1. Title of paper

2. The name, position, faculty and institution of each author

3. One author for correspondence and their preferred email address for correspondence

4. The theme of the paper (CPD, Social Innovation, etc.)

5. An abstract of not more than 200 words

 

The deadline for papers to be submitted is 17.00 (GMT) 31st May.

Papers will be reviewed by the Conference Organising Committee chaired by Professor Chris Fox (MMU).

 

Nominating a sub-theme

If you would like to nominate a sub-theme for one of the parallel sessions please send a short proposal marked ‘Proposal for a sub-theme’ to carpe@mmu.ac.uk. Please describe the sub-theme and explain how it would fit into one of the conference themes. Please nominate a Chair for the session and at least one other person who would be able to review papers. Please identify at least four papers that will be submitted to the conference via the procedure described above that would fall within the sub-theme.

 

Conference posters

If you would like to submit a conference poster on one of the conference themes please send your proposal to carpe@mmu.ac.uk. Mark you email ‘Conference poster’ and include a one page Word document that includes the following information:

1. Title of poster

2. The name, position, faculty and institution of each author

3. One author for correspondence and their preferred email address for correspondence

4. The theme of the poster (CPD, Social Innovation, etc.)

5. An abstract of not more than 150 words
