Introduction

Valencia's two metropolitan State universities run a joint Master's Degree in Cultural Management that seeks to meet the increasing demand for this type of training in today's society. Cultural Management comprises a broad sector of services aimed at satisfying the needs of the various services provided by public administration and private organisations in the wide-ranging field of culture. Cultural management is a growth sector and a job market that is not expected to be saturated in less than five years. In our Autonomous Community alone, the sector does not currently meet more than 40% of the need generated by publicly-funded activity. In terms of the private sector, the cultural and cultural tourism industries are now rapidly expanding professional fields.

Aim

The aim of the Master's Degree is to train professionals to approach cultural management as a way of ensuring the comprehensive organisation of a territory's cultural resources. The programme also aims to train top level technical experts who are qualified to structure all kinds of cultural resources, designing effective management products and promoting the social aspect of their sustainable operation.
