Introduction

In a context of growing social pressure on water resources, it is vital to train experts in hydraulic engineering and the environment from both the professional and research point of view. Moreover, European legislation (Water Framework Directive, 2000) calls for the training of professionals from a multidisciplinary perspective analogous to this degree programme.

This master's degree is associated with the PhD in Water and Environmental Engineering, awarded a Quality Mention by the Ministry of Education (MCD2006-00408).

Objectives

  • Complete professional training in those aspects insufficiently covered by the bachelor's degree.
  • Introduce students to applied research methods.
  • Develop the skills and abilities necessary for adaptation of students to technological innovation and its transfer to society.
  • Provide advanced technological instruction to both update professionals and/or introduce them to research activities.

For participants who wish to formalize their doctoral thesis, completion of this master's degree will cover the training period required by Spanish legislation (RD 1393/2007).
