The main purpose of the Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage is the training of professionals, whose job is the preservation and transmission of artistic and cultural heritage. To this end, a multidisciplinary training is offered, in which the scientific and artistic fields are integrated and the use of new technologies is used to develop the necessary skills for the profession: the knowledge and documentation of cultural heritage, the assessment of their state of conservation and the proposal and development of conservation and restoration treatments. The graduates can join the field of conservation, restoration, management and dissemination of cultural heritage, museums, public institutions or private companies, in addition to being able to offer freelance services. They can also apply for secondary school teaching of artistic, technical, plastic arts, etc. The School has close relationships with some of the most prestigious European and American institutions. This is the case, among others, of the Scuola dell'Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (Italy), Opificio delle Pietre Dure (Italy), the Institut Royal du Patrimoine Artistique (Belgium), Center de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées (France), Fachbereich Konservierung und Restaurierung (Germany), National Institute of Anthropology and History (Mexico), Smithsonian Institution (United States) or the Institute of Cultural Heritage (Spain). The students will have the opportunity to use their skills and competences through internships carried out in the School itself, in the University Institute of Heritage Restoration (IRP) of the UPV, or externally in different national and international companies and institutions. This degree enables access to the Master's Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage taught by the Universitat Politècnica de València and which distinguished with the Ministry's Quality Award.
