Introduction and objectives


The Master's Degree in Computer Engineering (120 ECTS) is professionally oriented, training highly qualified professionals capable of adequately performing the profession of computer engineering, offering advanced training that develops aspects of leadership and management of technology companies and computer projects, deepens the learning of technological aspects and introduces students to the different areas of application of Computer Engineering, enabling them to work in innovative environments and multidisciplinary contexts, applying principles of ethical responsibility, legislation and professional ethics.

Although computer engineering is not a regulated profession, the Master's Degree in Computer Engineering is the official university degree linked to the practice of Computer Engineering, as established by the Resolution of 8 June 2009 of the General Secretariat of Universities (BOE of 4 August 2009).

For its part, the Master's Degree in Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence (90 ECTS) also has a professional orientation, training specialists capable of implementing and comprehensively addressing the security of information and communications systems beyond the traditional concepts of computer security, taking into account the most innovative techniques of vulnerability analysis, secure development of hardware and software, generation of threat intelligence through various methods, situational cyber-awareness and protection of IoT (internet of things) devices, industrial systems and critical infrastructures, without forgetting training in legal and ethical aspects, especially relevant in cybersecurity and cyber-intelligence.

The double degree option "Master's Degree in Computer Engineering" (MUIINF) - "Master's Degree in Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence" (MUCC) is very beneficial both for interested students and for companies and society in general. It allows you to obtain the two Master's degrees through an integrated academic pathway. All of this, with a lower course load and taking one semester less, by recognising MUIINF optional subjects as equivalent subjects in the MUCC and vice versa, with a lower economic cost than if both masters were taken separately.

Master's structure

 
 
  • 3rd year - semester A (33 ECTS): The final Master's thesis of the MUIINF (Code 33437, 15 ECTS) and the final Master's thesis of the MUCC (Code 34888, 18 ECTS) are carried out.


Admission requirements

The requirement for ordering students to cover the 5 places offered in the academic year 24/25 will be the following:

60 credits passed in the MUINF and two priority groups will be defined (group 1 will have higher priority):

  • Group 1: 60% average mark of the MUINF transcript + 40% average mark of the finalised transcript of the Degree in Computer Engineering.
  • Group 2: 60% average mark of the MUINF transcript + 40% average mark of the Computer Engineering Degree transcript.
